Photo Graphic Links: Appliance World &emdash; AW_2468

We celebrated our 20th Anniversary on October 24th. It was a ribbon cutting with the town officials to unveil our new addition of our showroom. Over 400 guests attended our celebration; red carpet and all. It was a fun evening enjoyed by all.

Come see our newly renovated showroom and experience an appliance showroom like no other on Long Island. We now offer many more selections of appliances to fit all household needs. See our Frigidaire 4 pc stainless steel package starting at $2199. Perhaps sign up for a cooking class offered in one of our “live” kitchens. See the pink Smeg refrigerator being raffled off with proceeds going to Huntington Breast Cancer Action Coalition.

Visit our web site applianceworldny.com and like us on Facebook and enter to win a new 35 series Electrolux range.

Cake Wars!

A cake decorating class that wound up in a major competition...

Chef Gunter Grossmann, one of our head, world trained chefs, taught a class on cake decorating. We established teams and went to work to see who was able to make the most beautifully decorated cake. After learning the basics of cake decorating, it was decided that everyone would want to continue with a more advanced class. What a lot of fun this was! Check out the cakes! Not bad for amateurs. Who knows, perhaps one of us will be headed for the food network.

Check our website, applianceworldny.com for our list of classes. We can customize a class to your liking, as well as do private cooking class parties.

Until next time - Happy Cooking!

Imagine That

Wow! I received a proclamation from Doug Geed of News 12 Long Island for doing something that is second nature to me. How cool is that!

We hosted a fund raising event for Gift of Life, which is for children with congenital heart defects.   We were able to raise enough money to save the lives of 7 children. We are so proud to be a part of that. A special thank you goes to all the restaurants, manufacturer’s chefs, bakeries, wineries and donors. Appliance World is a host to many local and national charities on a regular basis. This is the part of my job that is so rewarding. Giving back is what Appliance World does wholeheartedly.

We will continue to do these events on an even grander scale now that we have expanded our showroom floor space. Watch for our Grand Re-opening, 20th Anniversary Celebration scheduled for late October.

Until next time...

Happy Cooking!

WHAT’S NEW?

We just had installed one of our new kitchen vignettes. DCS has just completed a new display of their latest appliances. The look is professional as well as contemporary with a great price point. The digital control knob on the wall oven can regulate the temperature by a single degree. I urge you to check it out.

Until next time – Happy Cooking!

I am finally back!

Shame on me for not communicating to you everything that has been going on here! Our new showroom space is almost complete and we will be able to offer our clients so much more to choose from. Our kitchen vignettes will feature appliance packages for every price point and budget.

How soothing to view our mission statement behind a waterfall. Come on down and see and also help yourself to a fresh brewed cup of coffee from our Miele built in coffee maker. I promise to be back on a regular basis.

Happy cooking!

The Help

The word the HELP has been in the media since the best seller book and movie has become so popular. All I can say is “What would I do without my HELP?” I have the most fantastic staff that knows how to set up and break down when we transform our showroom into a catering facility to raise money for various charities and organizations.
Our most recent fund raiser for the YMCA of Huntington was a huge success! How could we possibly fit 25 restaurants into our showroom and give each one a presence? Somehow, someway, we did it. Again I could not have done it without my HELP.
A great big THANK YOU goes to my incredible staff that I can always count on to do the correct thing. I love you guys!
Until next time – Happy Cooking!

Where Do I Begin?

I took a small break from blogging due to an unforeseen eye injury. (No pun intended)

The good news is that I am back and happy to report that I SEE great progress being made in our showroom.  The expansion is moving right along and our target date for opening the new expanded showroom is May.

Floor space will be available for so many more kitchen appliance displays for both indoors and outdoors.  We will begin posting photos of our progress on our website and facebook page.

If you are in love with our showroom now, you will fall madly in love with our new one.

In spite of our construction, we continue with our demonstrations, our cooking classes and private parties.

Always a work in progress!

Happy Cooking!

I'm Back!

Happy New Year!

I am finally back in town and in the office. I went out to Denver to celebrate the holidays with my family and wound up getting sick and unable to return until now. There are so many things that we need to catch up with. We will be displaying Wolf/Subzero product at the NARI Trade Show this coming Monday; January 23rd from 2-8pm.  Look for us at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City, NY- booth F4.

We are having our first Cook Off on Thursday, January 26th at 6pm. Cooking with Mamma is a “live” competition using Mamma Lombardi’s All Natural Sauce. We have 4 finalists who will compete before a panel of judges using their original recipes.  For details check our web site or facebook page. Any proceeds will go to Bethel Hobbs Community Farm which donates to local food banks.

I also wanted to share with you the one day that I was feeling good on my trip; a great place for breakfast or brunch. Lucile’s is located in Denver, Boulder, Longmont and Littleton in Colorado. Mouth watering homemade biscuits and luscious homemade beignets are just a few things on the menu. Just think about baking those biscuits in your ovens and deep frying the beignets in your deep fryers. You can do it too.

Until next time – Happy Cooking!
